I was born and raised in Miami and as a young child it seemed to me that I was always drawing, singing or playing the guitar, I chose music as a career from an early age, eventually earning a BFA in Music Education. I gave guitar lessons and played in jazz and pop clubs for a few years, but my love of music had trouble matching the grind of the business of music.

Meeting and marrying a well-known printmaker (Robert) encouraged me to expand my drawings into color etchings of Carribbean and New England scenes, showing them in our Massachusetts gallery. Years of good prints followed (and kids too!),but the etching process is often repetitive and tedious. I craved something looser and more creative. The results of my search for a more immediate and satisfying medium are the oil pastels displayed here. I enjoy playing with shapes and designs, arranging similar and odd objects and coloring in rich layers of oil pastel.
